Project Overview

Khmer Maine is leading the development of Maine’s first Asian American Community Center—a bold and historic initiative that will serve as a cultural and intergenerational hub for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities across the state. The proposed project is an $8 million capital campaign that will fund the planning, design, and construction of the center on a 30-acre site in Westbrook, Maine, generously made available by our partner, Watt Samaki.

We are seeking a qualified Capital Campaign Consultant to conduct a feasibility study that will assess our organization’s readiness to undertake a campaign of this scale, engage key stakeholders and potential donors, and make strategic recommendations for campaign structure, messaging, and leadership.

    • Prioritize community-centric fundraising values within a capital campaign framework, especially when partnering with underserved communities.

    • Assess Organizational Readiness for an $8 million capital campaign, including leadership, staffing, and systems.

    • Evaluate Case for Support and recommend refinements for clarity, resonance, and philanthropic alignment.

    • Identify Lead Gift and Major Gift Potential based on conversations and early interest.

  • Deliver a Final Report with findings, analysis, and actionable recommendations, including:

    • Projected fundraising potential

    • Recommended campaign structure and timeline

    • Staffing needs and support requirements

    • Identification of risks and mitigation strategies
